Be Yourself! (No that’s not a cringey tagline, hear me out)

It is said that only 2% of the world fits societies beauty standard and even with that percent… a large amount had surgery to attempt to reach those unattainable standards.  These unattainable standards breed hate for oneself and others.

Confidence and self acceptance is far more attainable then the beauty standards set by a pretentious and condescending society.

Be yourself! To some it can be an annoying phrase to read. Because, “it’s not that easy“, and it’s not. And when you try to force yourself to love yourself, it doesn’t work. It just doesn’t work like that. Like most good things in life it takes time. It takes so much time. To learn something, to learn the truth of something. Anything. Including your divine purpose and beauty. To LET it be a part of you. It takes a lot of effort and time to let yourself BE yourself. And when outside influences creep in and try and change the narrative and the truth of how wonderful you truly are, it will feel suffocating. You are a unique and very blessed human being designed by God. You have multiple talents within you, you have hands and a heart to give to others. But please remember to give to yourself as well. You don’t have to be rich or well known or extremely beautiful to be loved by the ones who really matter. So please, don’t try to be someone else, try to be you. Your authentic self helps the world progress towards embracing authenticity.

The Weight of Unspoken Apologies

You used to say God could forgive anything. You said it with that cold assurance that kinda made mercy sound like a punishment. It was confusing (and painful- physically and emotionally) being a child
