The Weight Of A Moment

What a depressing but also extensively joyfully wholesome life…

What an extraordinary way to exist…. to love so deeply, to connect so profoundly, to intertwine your very soul with another’s, knowing with absolute certainty that one day, death will sever that bond in the physical sense. And yet, what a gift it is to love anyway. To walk this earth with the knowledge that every shared moment, every whisper of laughter, every tear that falls in the quiet of night, will one day become a memory… a memory that you will clutch with fervor, hoping, praying, believing that this is not the end.

It is a terrifying thing, is it not? To care so much, to pour yourself into someone, to give pieces of yourself away without a guarantee of forever? And yet, it is also the most breathtakingly beautiful way to live. To dare to love despite the inevitability of loss, to choose connection despite the certainty of separation… this is what makes us human.

And when that moment comes, when the hands we have held grow still and the voices we have cherished fall silent, we are left with nothing but hope. Hope that transcends the very fabric of time, hope that whispers to us in the stillness of grief, reminding us that love is not confined to this world alone. We cling to the idea that there is more, that the story does not end when our eyes close to this life but rather, continues beyond what we can comprehend.

No distractions. No flickering screens, no buzzing notifications, no pursuit of wealth or status to cloud our vision. None of it will matter in the end. Not the money we spent, the possessions we accumulated, the accolades we chased. When the final page of our earthly existence turns, all we will crave is one thing… them. The ones who made this fleeting life worth living. The ones whose presence turned ordinary moments into extraordinary ones. The ones we would trade entire lifetimes to see again, to feel their warmth, to hear their laughter echo through eternity.

And so, if my words carry any weight, if my musings seep into the crevices of your heart, let them awaken something within you. A sense of urgency, a gentle but unrelenting push toward what truly matters. Because in the end, it is not the years that define a life… it is the relationships, the love, the imprints we leave on the souls of those who walk beside us.

So love, and love without hesitation. Cherish the voices of those you hold dear. Hold them closer, speak the words your heart longs to say, weave yourself into their existence with reckless abandon. Not because time is fleeting, but because time, no matter how much of it we have, is meaningless without them.

Let your love be your legacy. Let your kindness be the thread that binds your soul to others. And when the moment comes… when this life dims and we step into the unknown… may we do so with hearts unburdened by regret, knowing we have loved with everything we had.

Because, after all, the love we place on this earth with courage, vulnerability and excess before leaving, is the one thing that even death cannot take away.
